At Good Fortune Custom Rods, we design and build quality fishing tools that perform as an extension of your body as you spend the day on the water.
Every rod is given full attention to fit, finish, and detail. Deciding to have your rods built by a Guild Certified Professional means you have access to the highest quality components available, such as:
American-made rod blanks from St. Croix, G Loomis, Sage and Pacific Bay.
Fuji, Batson or American Tackle line guides.
Reel seats from Fuji, Pacific Bay and Struble.
Gudebrod threads and Threadmaster finishes.
At Good Fortune, the design begins by gathering critical information like:
Handle Material/Size & Shape: Custom handles and seats are turned on a lathe to fit your hand and arm, with aesthetics that are sure to please you. Special needs or desires can be met by discussion prior to beginning the assembly.
Static Deflection Testing: Every Good Fortune rod is tested for correct number and placement of the line guides, with all consideration given to minimizing weight. This process prevents line slap and unnecessary friction which can hamper casting accuracy and distance.
Spiral Wrap: Ask about having your casting rod Spiral Wrapped for maximum stress reduction while fighting fish.
Blank Through Handle Construction: All Good Fortune Custom Rods are built with the blank extending all the way to the butt end of the handle or reel seat. This provides maximum sensitivity to detect strikes, and better strength for landing your fish.
Warranty
Good Fortune Custom Rods carry a 30-day unconditional satisfaction warranty. We want you to be completely satisfied with your new rod. Manufacturer’s warranties apply to all blanks and guides, and are passed on to the new owner.
Pricing
Since each custom rod is different, pricing is determined by choices in blank, guides, reel seat and other components, as well as any optional aesthetics requested.
