Do you tie your own flies and enjoy catching fish on the lures you’ve created? Wouldn’t it be great to land that fish on a fly tied to a rod you created and built? Think about it; from your hand to the fish’s mouth, it’s all you. Now, that’s mastering the art of catching fish!
If this appeals to you, then I have a workshop for you. In three evenings over a three week period you can learn the basics of rodbuilding and completely build your own quality fly rod. When you’re done, you will be fishing with a rod that anyone would be proud to own. Students in my class do not build on cheap imported kits. We use quality components from St. Croix, G Loomis, Struble, REC, and more.
Students are provided hands-on classroom instruction, all the tools necessary to complete the project, and a textbook that is theirs to keep after the rod is done. Every rod built in the class is different. You decide what you want to build, what kind of blank you want to build on, and what extras, if any, you want to add. Each finished rod is unique to the builder, from blank choice to the colors of the guide wraps.
If this sounds interesting to you, give me a call at 704-894-9729, or email me for information about the next available class.
